Deomo's Vacation: Pendant Battle

I dragged Deomo out to the temple to place a blessing candle. Elca was there crafting in the peace. I set her on admin so she could do more.

Yes... yes... hunting was exactly what Deomo needed for his vacation. He brought me out to hunt gaul and piket on Dantooine. We had an awesome time. His spirit practically sang with the ringing of his pike. I dare say, we were a sight to see fighting side my bide.

*wack wack wack swing kick WHAM!*

Yup... my dance of death.

This i got kicked in the helm by a piket.

And Deomo's pendant began to wake and whisper and pulse. *grrrr* I will deal with that karking pendant....

After we were done our 4 missions, I set up a fieldbase. Deomo was so statled! He had never seen one. *grin* Then the pendant whispered to him. He began to panic. He is not used to hearing things whisper in his mind. And the karking pendant... or rather the cursed spirit within it USED OUR BOND to reach me and GRRRRR we had such an exhange of thoughts. I tried explaining it all to Deomo. As best I could. Then... KARK... my body took a sudden shift and I was going to faint. I struggled. I fought to stay conscious. I was losing focus. Just as I thought I had the focus back and I looked at Deomo. The pentant spirit spoke through him... and raised his carbine to shoot me. OH GODS! *cuimhnigh Deomo... cuimhnigh... remember... taishan* *risk* I spoke my words aloud as they resonated along my bond to Deomo. I placed my hand on his cheek. I risked being shot by him. He froze in shock. And suddenly shouldered his carbine. Damn... that was too close. *blackness*

How long was I out? Dammit. I fainted. Deomo was sitting on a cot with me cradles in his arms, his eyes closed, humming to me. I could feel him silently pleading for me to be ok. Dammit. Well... at least this is the first time in 2 days I have fainted. I guess my body is adjusting to the energy pattern shifts it must be going through. Kark its bad timing though!! Deomo, however remembered nothing!!! AAAARRRRGGGG!!!!! As far as he was concerned... a Piket kicked me in the head and we set up camp after and I passed out! AAARRRGGG!!! Dammit!!! KARK!!! THAT KARKING PENDANT!!! And I thought I had won this round against it. Damn. Ok... it won. I will not push this subject again till I am better balanced.

We sat for a bit and just... relaxed. Enjoyed the view. Then... he... joked with me. Even... played!! *grin!* He was beginning to relax. *heehee* I even managed to get a picture of him SMILING!!! HAHA!! I promptly uploaded it to my main system as I am not sure how long this cracked datapad will last. I really need to go back to base and commission a new one. Or see if I can get a good sliced one from Kaiyn. Hehe... Deomo played and smiled, and laughed. With gleeful abandon we charged out to hunt some more critters on our way back to the starport. I think I will just enjoy this extremely rare moment of seeing Deomo having fun.... and doing something HE wants to do. Up to this point he has been strictly taking my lead. He has been taking orders so long he hardly knows what to do... doesn't know he can do and think for himself. And that it is OK to do so. So him choosing to hunt... was a good thing. It was his own choice. But then he told me to choose the next thing we were to do.

Hmmm... hmmm... AHA! lake.

I brought him to Tattooine. To Fyrshka's sanctuary. En route, he asked frequently where we were going. I first showed him the grave stones outside Mos Eisley. He is almost NEVER on Tattooine. He hasn't even seen the sights here! Damn! I will have to change that. When we are nearing the mountains that surrounded the lake I told him we were ging to a lake. He stopped his swoop. So did I. *??* LAKE?! Hehe... I could see the disbelief and hear it in his tone. But this is Tattooine. There are no lakes! Sand... all sand!! Hehehehe... IS he ever in for a surprise. *smile* Heehee.

And thus he was introduced to the lake! He was astonished! It was wonderful. He had to wade through it to be sure it was real. Hehe. Then he was disappointed that it wasn't deep. I assured him there were some spots where he could swim. Him being a foot taller than I... well... it was likely not so deep. He dashed back behind some of the nearby houses to change. I found him. Hehe. But then let him change out of his armor in solitude. he waded every inch of the lake seeking out the swimming spots. Heehee. Well... I might have lost a round with the pendant... but Deomo still belongs to himself. So... maybe I will consider that I actually won the round and the pendant lost. *smile*

I set up a camp and we lounged a bit. Then he got real bold and took hold of me to dance! Oh no!! No no! I don't dance. He was so puzzled. He was sure I would/could dance. I was equally puzzled. Deomo knows how to dance?! He explained that all officers must know for formal occasions. And I explained that I... don't dance. I prefer to hide in a dark distant corner and watch others dance. I don't know how. And... don't want eyes on me. The ritual was excrutiatingly difficult with so many just watching me. He offered to teach me. He really wanted to teach me. Um... um... he took my hand and we walked all around the lake looking for a flat spot. When a sandstorm came up, I brought him into Fryshka's sanctuary house. Flat ground. Oy. He just smiled. He practically glowed inside. He so wanted to teach me to dance. I could not say no. So... he began to teach me: My arm over his left shoulder, his left arm around my wait, my left hand held up in his right hand, left foot step back, right foot step together, left foot step left, right step together, left foot step front, right foot step together then right foot step right and left foot step together. After a few times and tense slow stiff stepping and lifted my chin to make me look at him and not my feet. And we did this a bit till I got used to it and relaxed. *smile* I can do this! He was beaming back at me with suck pride. Then he confused me. He made us turn. I lost it. He told me to trust. To just follow him, and not take my eyes off his. *breathe* Ok. We did this a bit till I got the rhythm of it. I was dancing! I still won't ever do this with others watching. Never.

We then went outside and I shot off a couple fireworks to see what I had. they were not all that exciting. Oh well. We flopped on the moss by the lake. I snuggled into his shoulder. And exhaustion just gripped me. My mind drifted to Maxell again, as it had been throughout the day. I hope he is well. I am not supposed to seek him out till Monday night. I am to contact Cym for his whereabouts. *nervous* Deomo must have sensed my rising anxiety and began humming to me again. It is so soothing listening to and feeling the deep resonance of his humming. I was quickly drifting to sleep. I think he was having a good time on his vacation at last.

And I am ambivolent about the results of my "skirmish" with his karking pendant's cursed spirit.
