Meditating... Inspiration
I flew back to the temple. To meditate. The pains and the shocks going through my system from Maxell was almost too much to bear. I had to get him out. Had to. Tonite. There could be no more waiting. He would die long before they took him to Dathomir. I doubted he would live two more days.
I panted and gasped on the ritual floor. Trying to think. I reached for Deomo's strength. But I did not call him to me. Oh how I wanted to though. To have him hold me and shelter me from all this... and from what I was about to do. I am not sure what they are doing exactly to Maxell. But the pain... oh gods the pain. Max has drawn in so much of the feral I was afraid. Will he be sentients when I get him back? What will be his state of mind? If he is lives till I do get him? Gods... if he lives... If he doesn't, live. I must at least claim his body... and protect his family.
I must. And with this resolve came a calm. With that calm came balance. With that balance came a flow of strength from beyond understanding... the Force? that Otherness that takes hold of me sometimes? I didn't know. I didn't care. I welcomed it. I opened to it. I needed it.
I reached out to Max... reached past the feral to touch the spirit of the man I love and to remind him of who he is... and that I will come for him... one way or another... t0night.
Tonite... I must be a leader. Tonite I lead a small team. To do what? I wasn't sure yet. Then... then it hit me! Ebe had mentioned last night that Cauil was trying to meet her. But that an informant tipped her off that it was a trap for her arrest. Cauil, though full of subterfuge, is actually a man of his word. If... if by some chance I could extract that word... If I could get hold of him... This... yes... Let Ebe meet him. And then... let us take him. And extract that word. The how... I did not know yet. I didn't even know who was coming yet. But... I... *trusted* I trusted that Need would guide me to the right action. That... When the moment came, I would know what to do.
And so the temple whispered:
"True leaders are not those who strive to be first but those who are first to strive and who give their all for the success of the team. True leaders are first to see the need, envision the plan, and empower the team for action. By the strength of the leader's commitment, the power of the team is unleashed."
